The Tuba is a very large and heavy instrument to move. These following steps insure the easiest and safest way to set up and play the Tuba:
1.) Get the tuba & walk to your chair

2.) Sit down and take out the instrument from its case
*Be careful that you are opening it right, the levers must be pulled up not down. 3.) Place the mouthpiece into the slot near the top of the bell.
Be sure not to put too much pressure, because too much pressure can get the mouthpiece stuck in the tuba. 5.) Put the mouthpiece up to your lips and lightly buzz. To buzz you need to blow air from your lungs through your lips tightly to make a sound similar to a boat impression.

4.) When the mouthpiece is secure, place the bottom of the Tuba halfway up your thighs or once the mouthpiece is level to your mouth.
6.) Now you are ready to become a great Tubist!
